Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have held steady for the most part but risen slightly locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.73 per gallon which is six cents more expensive compared to last week.
Prices remained even across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.71 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $2.53 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.86 in Erie.
The average national gas price dropped another four cents to $2.43, which is 10 cents less than three weeks ago. Crude oil prices continue to decline due to ongoing concerns about the effect of the coronavirus on demand for global travel.
