
Gas prices continue to inch down locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, decreased by two cents to reach $3.53 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by four cents to settle at $3.49. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.21, while the most expensive is in Oil City at $3.60.
The average national gas price decreased by a nickel over the past week to $3.09. This is the same as a month ago and a quarter lower than this time last year. Demand for gas increased but the price of a barrel of crude oil decreased slightly.
