Gas prices have once again dropped slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, fell by a penny over the past week to settle at $4.17 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by two cents during that same time to reach $4.18. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $4.10, while the most expensive is $4.23 in Beaver.
The average national gas price increased by four cents over the past week to reach $4.12 which is $1.24 more than a year ago. According to AAA, the demand for gas continues to rise while stocks decrease but the fluctuating price of oil continues to drive prices at the pump.
