Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have dropped both regionally and locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.49 per gallon which is 24 cents cheaper compared to last month.
Prices dropped by 12 cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, also averaging $2.49 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $2.21 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.65 in Beaver.
The average national gas price declined to $2.25 and AAA expects those figures to continue to drop in the weeks ahead. Crude oil prices remain low due to fears about how the ongoing international public health crisis could result in a global recession.
