Gas prices dropped once again both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by three cents over the past week to settle at $4.52 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by eight cents during that same time to arrive at $4.51. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $4.40, while the most expensive is $4.63 in Beaver.
The average national gas price decreased by 14 cents over the past week to reach $4.21 which is 63 cents less than a month ago. The demand for gas increased last week and the price of crude oil increased as well, meaning that the decline in gas prices could be ending soon.
