There were minor injuries this morning after a garbage truck rolled over an embankment in Lawrence County.
Dispatchers say it happened around 7 a.m. on Muddy Creek Road in Slippery Rock Township—which runs parallel to Slippery Rock Creek.
A garbage truck hit a patch of ice and went down a 20 to 25 foot embankment. According to crews, two people were able to get out of the truck on their own and suffered only minor injuries.
At last report, the truck was apparently unstable and was entangled in trees. A tow truck has been called to try and get the garbage truck out of the ravine as soon as possible.
The road was shut down due to the icy conditions.
