Fox Chapel native Chip Ganassi announced Wednesday that he is selling the Nascar wing of his auto racing operation to Justin Marks, owner of Trackhouse Racing. The deal will end a decades-long run for the Ganassi organization in stock cars.
Marks is a former driver for Ganassi in the Xfinity Series. He plans to continue a two-car operation at the Cup level in 2022 with Daniel Suarez driving one of the cars. Kurt Busch and Ross Chastain are the leading candidates to drive the other ride. Ganassi Motorsports has compiled 24 Cup level wins, including the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 with driver Jamie McMurray.
