The state’s Game Commission is reminding residents to be safe as black bears begin to come out of hibernation.
Officials ask that you reduce bear-human interactions, as the bears may be bad-tempered or irritable as a result of hunger.
They also say to bring in bird feeders and pet food at night so bears don’t come close to homes.
It’s estimated that the black bear population in Pennsylvania is around 20,000.
