The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a hunting license fee increase.
The current cost of hunting and furtaker licenses in the state is $20.70, which game commission officials say is far lower than other states. Also, the fee for licenses have not increased in Pennsylvania since 1999.
An increase would need approval by the state General Assembly and Governor Tom Wolf before it could take effect. Officials say if an increase is not approved soon, the agency will have to make significant cuts to personnel and programs.
