Carrying an expired hunting license will be illegal as of July 1st.
The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners voted to give final approval to a measure that makes it against the law to have a license or game tag from a previous year.
Sometimes Wildlife Conservation Officers find hunters or trappers trying to pass off expired documents to take an animal in the current season.
It is now also unlawful for adult hunters to possess fulfilled, revoked or suspended licenses or tags as well as licenses or tags of junior hunters or mentored youth.
