The Pennsylvania Game Commission is making changes to a program that helps farmers address crop damage issues through the hunting antlerless deer.
The efficiency and effectiveness of the Agricultural Deer Control Program, better known as the Red Tag Program, was discussed at the Commission’s meeting last week.
Those who use the program have recommended that landowners no longer be required to report Red Tag harvests. Also, all licensed hunters, not just Pennsylvania residents, will now qualify for Red Tag permits. Finally, the red snap tags will be replaced with standard harvest tags issued through the Game Commission’s website.
These changes will go into effect this November.
