A local recovery center group is expanding their services in Western Pennsylvania.
The Ellen O’Brien Gaiser Center will now assist inmates in the Green County Prison with battling drug addiction.
Greene County received a two-year grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to fund the treatment and therapy.
Gaiser Medical Director Dr. Tom Brophy has already begun training prison staff to deal with physical, mental, and behavioral health issues.
Those incarcerated individuals will also receive help with reintegration as they leave prison and the social issues they will face upon leaving.
