Meetings continue but no public information is available about plans to transfer ownership of the Butler Middle School.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White stated Monday night that the Community Development Corporation is actively involved in discussions with an unnamed entity interested in a portion of the building.
The non-profit Pittsburgh Gateways Corporation continues to be involved in these discussions as a facilitator of organization. All options continue to remain on the table for the former Junior High.
The district remains in favor of transferring ownership as soon as possible due to ongoing payments for utilities and insurance at the vacant structure.
White is hopeful that he will be able to have an item concerning the Middle School on the agenda for the board’s meeting in March.
