Local officials met with PennDOT representatives on Monday to discuss future projects that are needed but not yet funded.
Among those projects is paving a 3.5-mile portion of Route 68 that passes through Butler Township and the City of Butler.
PennDOT’s Courtney Snyder said the paving would begin at Benbrook Road and continue to the bridge over the railroad tracks near Butler Memorial Hospital.
Another project discussed would involve the installation of new adaptive traffic signals on New Castle Road in Butler Township from Moraine Point Plaza to Butler High School. The upgraded six traffic signals would help traffic flow.
Since funding is not yet secured there is no timeline for either project.
