The Butler Area School District is offering local residents garden fresh produce.
The Fresh Market at Broad Street Elementary School will be open on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. or as long as the produce lasts.
Fresh produce grown in school gardens will be free to the community but cash donations to help continue this program will be accepted. This market is part of the district’s Growing a Green Future program which allows students to learn more about agriculture as they help to grow food as well as business as they help with selling the produce.
A second Broad Street Community Fresh Market is planned for August 1st with additional school garden produce at the Butler Hospital Farmers Market July 25th.
