It wasn’t snow– but rather ‘light freezing drizzle’ that caused problems for drivers– and walkers– early Wednesday morning.
The drizzle started falling about 4:30 a.m. leaving a light glaze of ice on roadways, bridges, sidewalks and vehicles. Several slick spots were reported on county roads.
All nine public school districts in Butler County– and most private schools– decided to operate on either a two-hour delay or closed schedule. A full list of school, and community, closings and delays is available here.
Butler County was under a Winter Weather Advisory all morning, per the National Weather Service, but it has since expired.
Temperatures are not expected to warm up today, staying at or below the freezing mark of 32 degrees.
