WPIAL Girls Volleyball Playoffs:
2A Quarterfinals:
–Freeport shutout Hopewell 3-0. The Yellow Jackets will meet Avonworth in the semifinals Thursday.
–North Catholic defeated Ellwood City 3-0. They will meet Beaver in the semifinals tomorrow night.
3A Semifinals tonight:
–Knoch will meet Franklin Regional at North Allegheny high school. The match begins at 7:30pm.
North Hills high school will host a 4A semifinal doubleheader:
–Pine-Richland will meet Canon-McMillan at 6pm.
–North Allegheny will face Moon at 7:30pm.
The Freeport Girls Soccer (16-5) team will meet South Park (13-4-1) tonight at Mars high school in the WPIAL 2A consolation game. The match begins at 6pm. The winner will advance into the PIAA tournament.
