There is still time to register for a free workshop for parents who want to help a student transitioning from high school to employment.
The Disability Options Network is hosting the event on Friday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Community Care Connections in Butler.
The workshop will cover an overview of disability laws, vocational rehabilitation programs, and self advocacy. The session will be led by an independent living coordinator and an education advocate. Parents will be able to ask questions throughout the session.
The deadline to register is Wednesday, May 17 in order to allow for the preparation of take home materials. Call 724-652-5144 extension 157 for more information.
