Visitors to the city of Butler can enjoy free parking beginning Monday and continuing through the holiday season.
According to Mayor Tom Donaldson, all metered, on-street parking in the city will be free through Saturday, Dec. 26.
“It helps all the downtown businesses. Whether people are buying jewelry, or stopping for a meal at one of the restaurants, it eliminates the worry of getting a parking ticket. The reason I started it on Monday is that Christmas is on a Friday and it gives them two full weeks,” Mayor Donaldson said.
The Mayor and Butler City Council are expected to give final approval to the 2016 budget during meetings this week.
