The increase in security is due- in part- to an incident on Friday.
A former Butler School District student was arrested after allegedly posting a threat against the district online.
Bryan Flecken, 28, who now lives in Allegheny County, is accused of writing on Facebook that he was going to “buy some guns and shoot up the school.” The comment was posted on the same day of the mass shooting at a Florida high school.
Flecken allegedly told police that he was joking and officers who went to his home during the investigation said he did not have any guns.
Flecken remains in jail on $250,000 bail.
