Former Slippery Rock University head football coach Bob DiSpirito passed away earlier this week. DiSpirito was the Rock head football coach from 1967-1980, then returned for one year in 1987, before handing the program to George Mihalik. Like Mihalik, DiSpirito had also been a Slippery Rock faculty member. Funeral visitation will be held at the Newman Center in Slippery Rock Sunday from 2-4pm and Monday from 4-7pm.
College Football Bowls: Boise State defeated Northern Illinois 55-7 in the Poinsettia Bowl Wednesday. Georgia Southern defeated Bowling Green 58-27 in the Go Daddy Bowl.
Today: Middle Tennessee will meet Western Michigan in the Bahamas Bowl at noon. San Diego State will meet Cincinnati in the Hawaii Bowl at 8pm.
