A Fenelton man is facing charges for allegedly stealing money from an organization while serving as treasurer.
A criminal complaint filed by the Butler County Detective Bureau accuses 55-year-old Michael Schnur of multiple charges including felony theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Schnur had the position of treasurer of the RC Men’s Club in 2016 when club members noticed that income from member dues, hall rental, and bingo was a fraction of what it had been in previous years.
An investigation revealed that Schnur allegedly intentionally under-reported income and withheld cash belonging to the club totaling nearly $32,000.
