Former Pittsburgh Penguins winger Mark Recchi has been voted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Recchi played in 1,652 games during his NHL career, fifth-most all-time. He is the only NHL player to record 500 goals and 1,500 who had not been voted into the Hall prior to Monday. He becomes the seventh player from the Penguins 1991 Stanley Cup championship team to reach the Hockey Hall of Fame. Recchi will be joined by six others at the ceremony in Toronto November 13th.
The Pens have made qualifying offers to seven of their nine restricted free agents. The list includes Conor Sheary, Brian Dumoulin and Justin Schultz. Meanwhile the Pens have lost director of amateur scouting Randy Sexton, who was hired as the assistant general manager for the Buffalo Sabres Monday.
