A Wexford man will not go to jail for his part in a plan to defraud the U.S. Department of Defense.
Harry Kramer, 52, was sentenced to three years probation, six months home detention and 150 hours of community service. He will also pay a $15,000 fine.
Kramer was the Chief Financial Officer at Ibis Tek in Penn Township when prosecutors say he committed fraud and filed false tax returns on the company’s behalf in 2009 and 2010.
While at Ibis Tek, Kramer worked with company co-owners and Butler County natives Thomas and John Buckner. While under contract with the U.S. Department of Defense, the Buckners sold scrap aluminum and did not credit that money to the government. This resulted in unallowable business deductions and criminal losses from false returns over $400,000.
Last week, the Buckner brothers were also sentenced to jail time for their role in the allegations of fraud against the government.
