If you’re dreaming of a White Christmas—well, you might not have to keep dreaming.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service’s Pittsburgh office are predicting cloudy skies and a soggy ground on Christmas Day. A high temperature of 31 degrees is expected.
Coming off a weekend of spotty rain and clouds, there will likely be no snow on the ground anywhere in the county tomorrow. Higher elevations have a slightly better chance to see a few white spots, forecasters say, if they received a light dusting over the weekend and it hasn’t yet melted.
Christmas Day’s official forecast this year is mostly cloudy skies and a high near 33.
Historically in the Pittsburgh area, it remains snow-free on Christmas. The most snow the area has ever received on Christmas Day is 3.5 inches. Which happened twice—in 1909 and 1935.
