The Butler Radio Network will feature five weekend football games:
Friday Night Football:
–The undefeated Knoch Knights travel to Highlands. Kick-off is 7pm. WISR pre-game is 6:30pm on 680am and at wisr680.com.
–Butler will host Pine-Richland for a 7:30pm kick-off. WBUT pre-game begins at 7:15pm on 1050am and at wbut.com.
Also tonight: Seneca Valley will visit Mt. Lebanon. Freeport will visit Elizabeth Forward. North Catholic is home to Central Valley. Karns City will host Moniteau. Slippery Rock travels to Sharon. Grove City will visit Brashear. Union/AC Valley will be home to Otto Eldred.
College game Saturday:
–Slippery Rock will host Shippensburg in their home opener at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Kick-off is 6pm. The Coach Shawn Lutz Show begins at 5:30pm on The Rock Station 97.7fm. The Rock enter the game ranked #11 in the nation. The game will be streamed at 977rocks.com as well as an audio/video feed at rockathletics.com.
–Pitt and Penn State meet for the 100th time in their storied rivalry Saturday for a noon kick-off. Pre-game on WBUT will be 10:30am. It is also the final time the two teams are scheduled to play. Penn State is 2-0 and ranked #13 in the nation. Pitt is 1-1. Penn State leads the all-time series 52-43-4.
–Grove City will host Bethany at 7pm.
–Westminster will host Waynesburg at 1pm.
The Pittsburgh Steelers home opener is Sunday at Heinz Field, when they host the Seattle Seahawks. Kick-off is 1pm. Pre-game begins at noon on WISR 680am.
Thursday Night Football:
–Tampa Bay defeated Carolina 20-14.
