The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 Sunday to wrap up the Western Conference final series in five games. They will await the winner of the Eastern Conference and play for the Stanley Cup. Vegas became the first expansion team to reach the Stanley Cup final since the 1968 St. Louis Blues, when the initial expansion teams were placed alone in the West. Former Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 31 of 32 shots in Sunday’s game. He is now 12-3 in this post-season.
Washington will host Tampa Bay tonight for Game Six of their series. Tampa Bay leads 3-2.
Golden State defeated Houston 126-85 Sunday to take a 2-1 series lead in the NBA Western Conference final. It was the Warriors 16th consecutive home postseason victory, breaking the old record set by the Chicago Bulls from 1990-91.
Cleveland will host Boston for Game Four of their Eastern Conference final. The Cavaliers defeated the Celtics 116-86 Saturday to cut Boston’s lead to 2-1.
