Former Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury won the Vezina Trophy for the first time in his career. Fleury topped Tampa Bay’s Andrei Vasilevsky as the NHL’s Goalie of the Year. The 36-year old Fleury finished third in the NHL with 36 wins in the regular season. He had goals-against average of 1.98 with six shutouts. He also moved into third place on the NHL career wins list with 492.
Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers won the Hart Trophy as the NHL MVP. He also won the Ted Lindsay Award as the league’s best player, an honor voted on by NHL players. Sidney Crosby of the Penguins was one of the three finalists for the award.
Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final series is tonight in Florida when the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Montreal Canadiens. Game time is 8pm.
