A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Butler and surrounding areas as more rain is expected on a region that is already soaked.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued the flood watch to run through Friday morning.
Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to cross through western Pennsylvania through late this evening. Heavy rain and already saturated soil conditions will lead to an increased risk of flash flooding.
Last week, areas of Butler City and Butler Township were hit with widespread flooding that damaged local homes and businesses.
