There will be an opportunity to fish without a license on Monday, July 4, 2016.
Fish For Free Day is a program sponsored by the state’s Fish and Boat Commission and it allows any resident or non-resident to legally fish on Pa. waterways without a license. Dustin Drew, Park Director at Moraine State Park, told our newsroom that Moraine will supply poles, rods and limited tackle that can be signed out for just that day.
This is a chance for those without a license, or those who would like to try fishing and not have to get a license, to participate in the sport for free.
Traditionally, the Fish Commission holds two Fish For Free Days. The first is typically held around Memorial Day and the other on the 4th of July.
