It is Valentine’s Day and you may be getting chocolates and balloons for your loved one.
But, First Energy is reminding everyone about the dangers foil balloons can pose to power lines.
Because foil balloons have a metallic coating, they can cause power outages if they connect with power lines.
First Energy representatives say the number of incidents have fallen over the last two years, but foil balloons still caused over 100 power outages in 2021.
