The first College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday, featuring the top four teams projected to play for the national title. Top-ranked Alabama leads the list, followed by last season’s runner-up Clemson. Michigan is ranked second nationally, but are third in the playoff rankings, followed by one loss Texas A&M. The top three teams are 8-0, while The Aggies are 7-1 and are ahead of Washington who are 8-0.
Penn State is currently listed 12th overall. West Virginia is 20th.
