A shot of wintry weather is on the doorstep this evening.
An expected snowfall of about an inch is projected for the Butler area tonight.
Snow showers are expected to begin not long after sunset and continue through the overnight. More snow is expected in southern Butler County, where motorists are asked to use caution as crews prepare for the winter weather tonight. Cranberry Township road employees are out placing salt brine on township and residential roads.
The winter pre-treatment process will allow for improved travel on local roadway hills and curves.
Motorists should use patience when encountering anti-icing vehicles and given them plenty of space to do their jobs.
