No people or animals were harmed as a result of a barn fire on Wednesday afternoon in Clay Township.
The fire started about 1 p.m. at a goat and chicken barn on West Sunbury Road.
“When we got there, the small, two-story barn was fully-involved with fire,” West Sunbury Fire Chief Matt Wilson said. “There was a larger barn that was beside it that was in danger, but it never caught on fire.”
West Sunbury firefighters were joined by Marion Township and Unionville crews. Wilson said the barn was destroyed.
A person renting the property was on the scene at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
“It was a complete loss. All animals were out of the barn. Nobody was hurt,” Wilson said.
