A fire broke out early Monday morning in the basement of ThorSport Racing headquarters in Sandusky, Ohio – where trucks are built and prepared for two-time Camping World Truck Series champion Matt Crafton. According to the team, there were no injuries and it would not affect plans to compete in the next race this coming weekend at Iowa Speedway. Hotspots were still burning some twelve hours after the blaze was first called in, but local reports had the fire well under control with just a small amount of smoke rising from the structure. A ThorSport spokesperson said the team’s four haulers, tools and pit boxes were removed from the shop before the fire spread. A number of teams have offered assistance as preparations continue for Saturday night’s race in Newton, Iowa.
