As we now approach almost two weeks after Christmas, fire officials say it’s about time to get the live trees out of the house.
According to the National Fire Protection Association nearly one-third of house involving Christmas trees happen in January.
Officials say the longer a tree is kept up after the holidays, the more likely it is to dry out and ignite.
Also, since people were buying trees earlier this year, that could present an even bigger fire hazard in homes.
