A number of big names struggled during the first round of the U.S. Open Thursday at Shinnecok Hills Golf Course. Tiger Woods shot an +8 over 78. Phil Mickelson was +7 over 77. Rickie Fowler was +3 over with a 73. The leaderboard included four players who shot -1 under 69’s: favorite Dustin Johnson, Ian Poulter, Scott Piercy and Russell Henley. They were the only golfer under par at the Long Island course. Jason Dufner shot an even par 70.
