A wanted federal parole violator who has spent more than 30 years in prison was taken into police custody over the weekend.
Our news partners at WPXI say that 60-year-old Randall McFadden was taken into custody Saturday after receiving medical attention at a local hospital.
McFadden was wanted by authorities for violating conditions of his parole after he walked away from the Renewal Center downtown in October. Many may remember McFadden for mailing a pipe bomb in a jewelry box that exploded in a North Hills postal center several decades ago.
The Allegheny County Sherriff’s Office said that they found McFadden after receiving a tip that an individual listed on their Most Wanted List was receiving treatment at the Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver County.
Upon arrival, police determined that person to be McFadden, who gave hospital employees a different name. Authorities say that McFadden was receiving treatment after he was found living in the woods by a Washington County hunter.
McFadden is currently in the Alleghney County Jail, and is being held without bond.
