The FBI is asking for help determining the identity of a person who robbed a bank in New Castle last month.
According to a press release, an unknown male entered the First Merit Bank on West State Street just before 2 p.m. February 29th. The robber then produced a small dark colored semi-automatic firearm and demanded money from the tellers.
The tellers gave the man two plastic bags with money and dye packs which detonated when the man left the bank. The robber then ran behind a shopping center and left in a newer model black Cadillac sedan with black rims.
The robber is described as having grey hair, about 40 to 50 years old, about five feet seven inches, with a medium build. The FBI is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction. Call 412-432-4000. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
