The father of a man recently arrested for attempted homicide is facing multiple charges of his own after police say he attempted to hinder the investigation into the shooting.
Police arrested 57-year-old David Rodgers of Donegal Township Friday in connection to a shooting last week in Cherry Township.
Rodgers is the father of 19-year-old Adam Rodgers, who is accused of attempted homicide.
Police say after the alleged shooting, Adam Rodgers dropped the gun off at a home on Hayville Road in Fairview Township—and that David Rodgers removed the gun before police arrived. Investigators found the gun later that day after conducting a series of interviews.
According to the criminal complaint, David Rodgers had a prior conviction and isn’t allowed to own a gun by state law.
He was released from the Butler County jail on $30,000 bail.
