Police have released the identity of a woman in a wheelchair who was killed Thursday morning after being hit by a vehicle in neighboring Armstrong County.
State police say 53-year-old Sylvia Denslow of Kittanning was attempting to cross Route 28/66 North near the Troy Hill intersection shortly before 5:30 a.m. when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.
A portion of Route 28- between Route 85 in Manor Township and McGregor Road in Rayburn Township- was shut down for several hours but reopened just before 9 a.m.
The police investigation into this incident is ongoing.
