A quick, but powerful, storm Monday afternoon caused some damage around Butler County.
Power lines on First and Second streets in Butler City were damaged and could be seen smoking and sparking.
Electrical companies have been out in force tackling the issues the storm has raised in the power lines and within residents’ homes. You can view website to research into the type of work that is being done to repair any damage and minimise the initial risk of danger to passers by.
Trees fell on lines along Route 422 in Franklin Township, closing a portion of the road and knocking out power to about 75 households.
Residents in Summit and Center townships also experienced power outages.
Properties were also damaged by the storm with a lot of the issues coming from fallen trees.

West Penn Power is not reporting any outages Tuesday morning.
Central Electric Cooperative was reporting about 200 outages in Penn and Jefferson townships overnight. Those were restored by 6 a.m., according to the company. No word if those outages were related to Monday’s storms.
