Evans City will host its annual “Living Dead” festival this weekend.
As in the past, there will be several zombie-themed events including tours of sites used in George Romero’s ‘Night of the Living Dead’ movies, visits to the Night of the Living Dead museum on Main Street, movie screenings, celebrity appearances and community events- like decorating “Ghouls for the Pool” scarecrows to raise money to fix the EDCO Park swimming pool and the “Pet Walk of the Living Dead” featuring dogs and cats in costumes.
But, there will be something new this year. On Sunday, fans, friends and former colleagues will honor Romero at the Evans City Cemetery chapel. Romero died in July at the age of 77.
The annual festival begins Friday and continues through Sunday. For more information, click here.
