Butler attorney William “Wink” Robinson Jr. is tossing his cap in the ring for judge in the Court of Common Pleas of Butler County.
Robinson owns the law firm Henninger and Robinson in downtown Butler and has been practicing law for 30 years, with an emphasis in family law matters.
“Whomever is elected judge will be assigned to family law matters, and I don’t think any of the candidates, to date, can say they’ve been doing family law for 30 years,” Robinson said in an interview.
Robinson has decided to self-fund his campaign.
“There has to be a total appearance of neutrality with judges in the judiciary,” he said. “There has to be integrity and total independence on the bench.”
Robinson is seeking the judge seat vacated by Judge Marilyn Horan earlier this year when she was confirmed as a federal judge.
Local lawyers Tom Breth and Jennifer Gilliland Vanasdale have also announced their candidacies for the position.
