The family of the Armstrong County woman allegedly killed by an escaped inmate have filed a lawsuit against the county jail and its warden.
Tammy Long’s adult children- Todd and Tara Long of Kittanning- filed the federal wrongful death lawsuit Wednesday alleging that Armstrong County and the jail’s outgoing warden, David Hogue, laid the groundwork for their mother’s death.
They claim that both the county and warden ran a lax facility which enabled inmate Robert Crissman, who was a trusty at the jail which means he had special privileges over other inmates, to escape earlier this year. Crissman then allegedly killed Tammy Long, who lived close to the jail.
Crissman’s trial is scheduled to begin in January.
Filing suit can be a costly, time-consuming, and highly emotional process. This is especially true if you need to file a wrongful death lawsuit.
Moreover, if your personal circumstances cause you to lose income or incur unexpected expenses like medical bills, your financial situation can sometimes get worse before you settle your case or win a judgment.
If you are thinking about filing suit, you might also be considering a lawsuit loan or lawsuit cash advance to help alleviate your financial stress while you wait for the lawsuit to settle.
