An event this weekend will give the community a chance to appreciate the artistic efforts of local students.
Art teacher at the Butler Area School District Eric Campbell gives a rundown: “Art students, their art work, we’ll have demonstrating artists, we have some choral, some jazz bands, we’ll also have a spectacular elementary arts show, we have baskets, we have a silent auction, we’ll have gourmet cupcakes, I mean its just awesome.”
Campbell and one of the organizers of the FAB Showcase which stands for Fine Arts and Beyond. This event is in its 13th year at the Intermediate High School and runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
All money raised at the FAB Showcase benefits local students through the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation.
“All of the money goes back to the school district. So whether its through teacher grants or whether its giving out $1,000 scholarships to 30 to 40 seniors every year now, the money that is being donated to the foundation goes back to the students,” Campbell explained.
