A meeting is being held today that could change how some fees are assessed using the EZ Pass.
Legislation was recently introduced that advocates say would bring more transparency and save drivers from paying unexpected fees on the turnpike.
State leaders say thousands were charged $10 “V-toll” fees last year when their EZ Pass transponder didn’t work.
However, drivers weren’t notified of those charges. The new bill would require the turnpike to email customers within 24 hours of being charged.
