Carrying an expired hunting license could soon be illegal.
The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners voted to give preliminary approval to a measure that would make it against the law to have a license or game tag from a previous year.
Sometimes Wildlife Conservation Officers find hunters or trappers trying to pass off expired documents to take an animal in the current season. The new hunting license year begins in July.
The measure will be up for final adoption in April.
