A Zelienople man is facing multiple charges after an incident of vandalism last week.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Zelienople police, officers were called out to the Exxon station around 10:30 p.m. Friday for a reported break-in.
Surveillance video showed a white male breaking glass of the door and window, then entering and taking cigarettes. Early Saturday morning, police found damage to another nearby business as well as graffiti. The owner of that business identified 34-year-old Michael Shipley as responsible. The man explained that he had recently banned Shipley from his bar. Another video allegedly shows Shipley stealing items from Sheetz around the same time. When police visited Shipley at his house, they found paint similar to the graffiti. Shipley claims he is being set up.
Shipley has been charged with felony burglary and criminal trespass.
