Today is International Overdose Awareness Day and there will be an event happening later this evening to mark the occasion.
Members of the community can gather beginning at 7 p.m. tonight at Grace Community Wellness Center, which is behind Diamond Park, to remember those who have lost their life to an overdose.
The event focuses on taking the stigma out of an overdose death, and gives an opportunity for people to remember their loved ones who have passed.
There will be a candlelit awareness walk on Main Street at the end of the service.
In the last decade, Butler County has lost 500 individuals to an overdose, including 66 last year.
